Illustrating My Zines
This ongoing personal project explores short-form storytelling through Instagram comics, drawing from everyday emotions, doubts, and lived experiences. The aim is to capture moments that feel universally familiar—curiosity, confusion, self-doubt, quiet humor—and translate them into visuals that resonate instantly. Each comic is designed to feel approachable and honest, inviting readers to see a piece of themselves in the narrative.
Turning Everyday Feelings into Stories
The illustrations deliberately range from minimal, cute compositions to more detailed and expressive panels, depending on the emotional weight of the story. Simple forms and playful characters are used when clarity and warmth matter most, while exaggerated expressions, lighting, and texture help convey intensity or internal conflict. This flexibility allows the work to remain visually engaging while staying grounded in relatability rather than spectacle.
Designing for Connection and Shareability
These comics are crafted to work within the fast-scrolling nature of social media, where clarity, pacing, and emotional hooks are critical. Strong silhouettes, readable typography, and expressive framing ensure the message lands in seconds. By pairing visual storytelling with introspective yet light-hearted themes, the series encourages sharing, conversation, and reflection—demonstrating my ability to use illustration as a tool for connection, not just aesthetics.
